A font file is considered software, and like most software, using it requires a license.
Our Personal and Company licenses both grant the same rights, except for the optional Sharing Extension.
Consult our Licensing page for more insight on what license applies to you.
Company
The Company license price is determined by the total number of employees within the Licensee’s company.
Even if none or only a few employees are using the fonts, it is still required to indicate the total number of employees in the Licensee’s company.
If the number of employees ever exceeds the initial count given at the time of purchase, you are required to contact us to upgrade your licensing plan
Personal
The Personal License is limited to a single individual and cannot be shared. If your company grows and you need coverage for multiple employees, you can contact us at any time.
If you need to share the font files with third parties, you can either switch to a Company License and get the Sharing Extension or have your third party purchase their own license.
Group
Upon request, we offer a Group license that extends coverage to affiliated companies, and subsidiaries. Contact us for a personalized offer.
Specific Lawful use of products with the Student Discount
A. The Student Discount is only delivered to Students enrolled in a full-time degree program.
B. The Student Discount is not available for teachers or universities.
C. The terms of a license obtained through a Student Discount purchase are identical to those of a Personal License.
D. Licenses acquired with a Student Discount remain valid after the studies’ termination. However, they are issued under the Student's name (as an entity) and are non-transferable.
If you wish to share the fonts with a third party (contractors or someone exterior from the Licensee’s company), you will have to purchase the Sharing Extension (only applicable to the Company License). Alternatively, each third party should acquire its own license. More details are in the Licensing page.
We understand that contemporary design projects are not limited to a single medium. At Swiss Typefaces, you don’t have to buy extra licenses for each media type. Just get a standard license, and you’ll have the right to use the fonts almost everywhere: in print, websites, mobile apps, social media, electronic publications, broadcasting, videos, and films.
True to our all-included licensing policy, we provide both desktop and webfonts with each purchase – at no extra cost. Further information regarding the font files can be found in the Support article Specifications.
